Job opening for Kitchen Designer/Salesperson in Yeovil, Somerset

Kitchen Designer/Salesperson, with elements of interior design

We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity to work for our small family run business based in Yeovil, Somerset. We are looking for an energetic and engaging person who we can help realise their own potential, with the chance to enhance their own skills in kitchen and interior design, primarily through helping customers plan their kitchens and including elements of other furniture from our main store and co-ordinating with the customers ideas & dreams. A high level of social media literacy would be a great bonus, to help us communicate our interesting design concepts to a wider audience.

We are looking for a person for a full-time position (part time may be accommodated) to work weekends with 2 fixed days off during the week. Our showroom has a mixture of freestanding kitchen furniture, more fitted solid wood kitchens and mixtures of other furniture from the main business, which we find helps inspire customers and gets the creative juices flowing.

Our kitchens are joinery built to order and as such our customers can enjoy custom-made pieces of kitchen furniture, therefore a successful candidate needs to be able to take customers ideas and turn them into workable solutions, on top of this, there are great options to create interesting spaces within the customers homes where the kitchen meets dining and living environments.

Primary job description:

  • Meet and greet customers visiting the showroom.
  • Book and manage appointments to visit and discuss customers ideas or plans.
  • Prepare detailed drawing either hand drawn or via a CAD program and communicate these to customers.
  • Prepare quotations for customers and update as necessary.
  • Load these plans into our sales software and communicate with customers about deposit and final balances.
  • Potential to cross sell furniture from our living and dining collections, including top brand upholstery, great value dining furniture or even accessories to help style the customer's homes.
  • Liaising with the workshop to design and build special items for customers.
  • Posting out brochures to potential customers and following up on customer leads.

We would like the successful candidate to also take part in:

  • Cross selling to other areas of the home, with the modern customer looking to create social kitchens for cooking, eating and entertaining. The showroom also includes combinations of upholstery, dining & living room furniture all of which can be used to enhance the kitchen designs.
  • Keeping track of interesting projects and arrange for a photographer to visit and photograph the end result.
  • Take an interest in creation of interesting social media posts about projects you have been involved with and to write a monthly blog section for our website, with ideas of interesting kitchen designs, mixes of kitchen and living/dining furniture that work well, current trends of paint colour for kitchens or interiors.

Salary negotiable based on experience, final hours and skill sets that you can bring to the role.
Initially please send your CV to jobs@oldcreameryfurniture.com and we will be in contact as soon as possible.
